A talk by Brian McBride about Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF), which is the world’s largest humanitarian air operator.

May 2025 - Incredible Edible

A talk by Norval Dampney about Incredible Edible in Stranraer, a group of volunteers interested in developing opportunities for growing food for the community as well as meeting new people.

June 2025 - Newton Stewart Museum

A talk by Kirsty Robertson of Newton Stewart Museum who brought some artefacts with her.

July 2025 - The Solway Coast and Marine Project (SCAMP)

A talk by Jan Hogarth about SCAMP, a 10-15 year, £20 million coastal habitat restoration project in Dumfries & Galloway.

Aug 2025 - History of a Prisoner of War

A talk by Simon Ramwell about his father, Bert, who was taken prisoner along with 80,000 other military and civilian personnel at the fall of Singapore on 8th February 1942 to the Japanese imperial army.

A talk by Stephen Liddle on the ever-changing theories of how the human body and mind interacts with the spiritual forces around it.

Nov 2025 - Bee Positive: doing simple things that are positive for bees

A talk by Anne Connick about this local group taking small positive steps to help our pollinators and other wildlife in DG8 and further afield.
