Groups

One of the main benefits of joining the u3a is the opportunity to participate in our Interest Groups. We have a wide variety of interest groups running very successfully – you can use the list on this page to find out more about each one.

Members may be required to pay a small fee for any refreshments and a contribution towards the cost of hiring the premises; organised visits and trips may also incur travel costs. Membership of subject groups is only open to members of Wigtownshire u3a. For more information please contact the Groups Coordinator.

Look out for the monthly Information Groups Bulletin, coming to you by email. You'll find a list of the forthcoming meetings of all the groups plus news about individual groups. If you don't see emails, printed copies will be available at the monthly meetings.

You can contact the facilitator via the respective group page. When communicating with the facilitator, please let them know whether or not you are already a member of our u3a.

Not able to find a group on your favourite topic or not able to get out?

The national u3a offers lots of opportunities including Interest Groups Online, an online u3a community that gives you the opportunity to join groups, talks and courses from the comfort of your home.

You also have access to talks, groups, and short course online from Online Across Scotland (OAS). These are being constantly added to as more groups and short courses come on line, such as Scottish Writers, Gaelic, and Spanish.
