The D&G Advocacy Service is a crucial service that supports many of our most vulnerable citizens in having a voice, expressing their wishes and values, often when key decisions are being made about their lives.  Trustees are responsible for overseeing strategic decisions, ensuring financial stability, and promoting our cause within the community.

Food Train is an organisation that supports older people living at home. Services provided include shopping, befriending, and support with household tasks. The Newton Stewart branch is looking for shoppers and drivers. Shoppers fulfil clients' orders in Sainsbury's on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, to be delivered by a different team later in the day. The D&G Hard of Hearing Group helps those who are hard of hearing by providing a volunteer run drop-in service in various locations across D&G including four in Wigtownshire (Newton Stewart, Wigtown, Whithorn, and Stranraer). NHS hearing aid users can receive support and advice about their condition, at the same time having their hearing aids maintained. More volunteers are now needed for this valuable service.
