About Us

40 years of positive aging

Founded in 1982, u3a is a UK-wide movement of locally-run interest groups that provide a wide range of opportunities for people who are no longer in full-time employment to come together to learn for fun. Members explore new ideas, skills and activities together.

There are more than 1,050 local u3a's with over 450,000 members nationally. To find out more about the history and ethos of the u3a, go to the Third Age Trust website.
